WHAT ARE VENTOUX CLIMBING HOLDS?
Ventoux is a collection of Volxume climbing holds designed to meet the needs of both indoor route setting and competition climbing. Designed to work perfectly alongside the Half Dome collection, they combine generous shapes, modern lines, and precise grip options, giving route setters plenty of creative freedom.
Available in several sizes and variations, Ventoux holds can be used to create a wide range of progressive boulders, from technical moves to more physical and spectacular sequences. Their design focuses on grip comfort, clear movement reading, and durability, making them suitable for intensive use in climbing gyms as well as demanding competition settings.
The Ventoux XL set consists of four XL holds featuring different grip zones while sharing the same shape. There’s one fully textured hold, one 100% smooth hold, one half smooth/half textured hold (split down the middle), and one with texture on the dome and a smooth base.
This gives route setters plenty of creative freedom and adds originality to boulders and routes.
WHAT IS VOLXUME TECHNOLOGY?
The Ventoux collection features Volxume technology, combining the complementary qualities of PE and PU in a single hold through an innovative dual-texture design.
The PE grip surface provides excellent resistance to abrasion, allowing the holds to maintain their performance over repeated use. PU, meanwhile, offers light weight, impact resistance, and greater freedom when creating larger hold shapes.
Volxume technology combines:
- Durability: improved resistance to wear on the grip surfaces.
- Lightweight design: hollowed-out holds that are easier for route setters to handle.
- Impact resistance: a material combination designed for intensive use in climbing gyms.
- Eco-design: less material is used, with a design focused on extending product lifespan, as the grip can be retextured.
- French manufacturing: Volxume holds are manufactured in France.
- Design: modern shapes developed specifically for route setting and performance, shaped by Arthur Ternant.
WHAT IS RETEXTURING?
Retexturing extends the lifespan of climbing holds by restoring their grip and surface texture.
Over time and with repeated use, the texture of a climbing hold naturally wears down. Retexturing gives the hold a second life by recreating its original grip surface.
The process allows you to:
- Restore a fresh texture and bring back the original grip feel.
- Extend the lifespan of your climbing holds and reduce the need for replacement.
- Reduce costs by choosing refurbishment instead of purchasing new equipment.
At Volx, we also offer refurbishment solutions to give climbing holds, macros, and volumes a second life—even if they are not Volxume products. It's worth considering!
THE DIFFERENT SIZES IN THE VENTOUX COLLECTION
The Ventoux collection is available in several sizes, allowing route setters to create boulders suited to every level and style of climbing. The Ventoux and Half Dome collections can also be combined, as the two ranges work perfectly together.
