The world's best climbers go head-to-head in front of thousands of spectators, making it one of the most iconic stops on the international climbing circuit. For the 2026 edition, Volx Holds was present across the two major disciplines: Speed and Lead climbing. Once again, this demonstrates the confidence placed in our French expertise by the organisers and route setters of the world's biggest international competitions. Speed: the official holds used at World Cups... and the Olympic Games In Speed climbing, nothing is left to chance. When world records are decided by hundredths of a second, every athlete must climb on exactly the same holds, regardless of the country where the competition takes place. That is precisely Volx's role. The holds you see at World Cups are manufactured at our factory in France. Since 2019, Volx has been the exclusive supplier of World Climbing's official Speed holds through the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. In Chamonix, both the Speed qualification rounds and finals were contested on official Volx holds. Behind this role lies an exceptionally high level of precision and quality control. Laser-assisted quality control ensures that every hold is strictly identical to the previous one, guaranteeing a perfectly fair playing field for all athletes.     Lead climbing: holds designed for high-level route setting While Speed requires perfect standardisation, Lead climbing is a fantastic playground for creativity. For the men's qualification and semi-final routes at the Chamonix World Cup, the route setters chose to work with several Volx references, including the Half Dome, Half Dome Mega Thermo, Optimus, Starcream and Claymore. These holds and thermoplastic macros were developed to meet the demands of modern route setting. With their generous shapes, different grip types and carefully developed textures, they allow setters to create varied, technical and spectacular routes where every movement matters. Their shapes give route setters a high degree of freedom to imagine routes capable of separating the world's best climbers, while also providing a genuine spectacle for the audience.   French expertise recognised on the world stage Seeing our holds at Chamonix is always a tremendous source of pride for the entire Volx team. From shape design to manufacturing, innovation, quality control and collaboration with professional route setters, every Volx hold is the result of collective expertise and teamwork. Our ambition remains unchanged: to develop high-performance, durable climbing holds and macros in France, adapted to the needs of climbers and capable of supporting both climbing gyms and the world's biggest international competitions.   Discover the models featured at this World Cup: Half Dome Half Dome Thermo Mega 850mm Half Dome Thermo Mega 700mm Claymore Starcream Optimus Macros
